WASHINGTON, D.C. —  The Virginia congressional delegation invites individuals across the Commonwealth to submit photographs to be considered for the Semiquincentennial Congressional Time Capsule. The delegation is collecting photographs that represent the many treasures Virginia has to offer in 2026 – whether they capture everyday life, natural landscapes, historic places, community events, local traditions, work, or recreation. Selected photographs will be included in Virginia’s submission to the time capsule.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — On Tuesday, Representative John McGuire hosted Acting United States Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling for a tour of UVA Health in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Representative McGuire and Acting Secretary Sonderling toured the Emergency Department gaining insight into the "Earn While You Learn" workforce programs offered by the health system.

LYNCHBURG, VA — On Thursday, Representative John McGuire hosted United States Secretary of Transportation Sean P. Duffy for a tour of Virginia's Fifth Congressional District.

The visit included a stop for a Cheesy Western at the Texas Inn, a visit to the Appomattox Battlefield where the nation united, a tour of the Lynchburg Regional Airport control tower, and a roundtable with the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, and local transportation leaders.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Representative John McGuire (VA-05) introduced the Federal Accountability for Felony Obstruction (FAFO) Act in response to the violent anti-federal law enforcement riots which have occurred across the country. 

This bill will expand the statutory definition of “domestic terrorism” to actions that result in significant property damage and impeding law enforcement and first responders.
