Rep. McGuire Votes for the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act of 2026

July 9, 2025

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative John McGuire (VA-05), voted for H.R. 3944, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026. H.R. 3944 provides Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations for military construction, the Veterans Affairs Administration, and related agencies that honor our commitment to veterans and servicemembers, funds critical military construction, and support a strong national security. This legislation supports those who have sacrificed for our country by fully funding veteran’s health care, benefits, and other critical programs, while also reflecting the priorities and policies of the Trump Administration.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to our veterans that can never be fully paid back,” said Rep. John McGuire. “H.R. 3944 supports our veterans by fully funding veteran’s health care, benefits, and VA programs. Additionally, it invests in President Trump’s efforts to combat veteran homelessness, mental health, and research. This legislation also invests in our military construction by enhancing our posture against China and strengthens our national defense. I am proud to have supported this bill.”

The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act 2026:
  • Funds military constriction, including continued investment in the Indo-Pacific to enhance our posture against China and infrastructure to support America's advanced weapons systems.
  • Strengthens our national defense, as well as investing in military housing to improve the quality of life of military families.
  • Reinforces President Trump's executive orders cutting DEI and gender-affirming care and protecting Hyde language at the VA.
  • Supports our veterans by fully funding veterans' health care, benefits, and VA programs.
  • Preserves veterans' Second Amendment rights by blocking the VA from sending veterans' information to the FBI without due process.
